I created Tauska in 2008 when I was graduating from Emily Carr University. Tauska is my brand. For the longest time I kept changing and updating my brand identity, but if never quite "felt right." This year after having taught graphic design and having worked on a number of other design projects, I decided to revisit my brand once more and look at it objectively as my own client. I realized that Tauska needed to reflect my past and also represent my now and future dreams. It would have to reflect all of that whilst connecting to illustration and also my design philosophy which is to keep things elegant, clean, fun, simple, but also useful. Finally the identity would have to retain the flower character which is centrally integral to my identity as it connects to playfulness, illustration, and aromatherapy, along with my past as a little girl doodling flower cartoons on her desk. And so the flower logo was reworked many times over to become part of the typography. The type face chosen is Avenir which is in keeping with my the simplicity and playfulness of my identity.
