Doing What We Want; An Alphabet Book for Girls
Calgary, Canada, 2017. The children’s picture book, Could I, Would I: An Alphabet Book for Girls is part of a two book set to introduce girls from around the world to big career ideas, positivity and a can-do attitude. Through the use of big positive words and fun pictures girls can see that they can do anything. The detailed illustrations reflect a global world in which anything is possible; featuring young girls with unique names, from many cultures, who many not otherwise get a chance to see themselves featured either in picture books or going after such careers as the girls in this book do. Closer to the end of the book, the page for letter Y, “Y is for You and whatever it is that You would like to do” - questions the reader and child about the future; engaging them in a fun critical thinking activity. |
